IRELAND (November 2020) – The second review of 2020 of the Occupations Lists for Employment Permits
What is the change?
The Economic Migration Policy Unit of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment has now launched the next public consultation commencing the second review of 2020 of the Occupational Lists for employment permits. Submissions are invited from sector representative bodies and interested parties via an application form, to be received by close of business on Friday 11th December 2020.
- Implementation time frame: Submissions are accepted from 11th November 2020 until 5pm on 11th December 2020
- Who is affected: The submission process is an opportunity for stakeholders to provide information, experiences and different perspectives on the nature and extent of skill and/or labour shortages, and stakeholder submissions are a vital source of information and views, which help to inform the Department’s final assessment of the status of occupations.
- Next Steps: Employers whom wish to make a submission with any observations may do so by emailing email@example.com by 5pm, Friday 11th December 2020.
Analysis & Comments:
You are invited to make a submission with your observations if you feel that there is either a skills deficit or surplus of individuals holding such skills, or a shortage of labour or surplus of individuals available to fill those labour needs, in relation to occupations in your sector.
You should include in your submission any relevant factors that you consider are impacting on your sector so that consideration can be given to making adjustments to the lists, for example, data on the skills or labour shortages, information on recruitment efforts undertaken, retention difficulties, relevant training incentives, impact on business, expansion plans etc., and any other evidence or data such as industry surveys or reports and views within your sector.
The consultation form has also been made available on the Department’s website, accessible through the ‘Consultations’ link on the webpage:
