  • Implementation time frame: Submissions are accepted from 1 July 2021 until 5pm on 12 August 2021
  • Who is affected: The submission process is an opportunity for stakeholders to provide information, experiences and different perspectives on the nature and extent of skill and/or labour shortages, and stakeholder submissions are a vital source of information and views, which help to inform the Department’s final assessment of the status of occupations.
  • Next Steps: Employers whom wish to make a submission with any observations may do so by emailing empu@enterprise.gov.ie by 5pm, 12 August 2021.

Analysis & Comments:

Employers are invited to make a submission with observations if they feel that there are skills/labour shortages or surpluses in relation to occupations in their sector, the impact of which is adversely affecting their industry.

Employers should include in their submission any relevant actors that they consider are impacting on their sector so that consideration can be given to making adjustments to the lists, for example, data on the skills or labour shortages, information on recruitment efforts undertaken, retention difficulties, relevant training incentives, impact on business, expansion plans etc., and any other evidence or data such as industry surveys or reports and views within their sector.

The submission process is an opportunity for stakeholders to provide information and experiences and different perspectives on the nature and extent of skill and/or labour shortages. Stakeholder submissions are a vital source of information and views helping inform the Department’s final assessment of the status of occupations.
