Global Advantage

GlobalAdvantage (GA) is Deloitte’s global mobility internet based tool. It has a range of implementation options depending on the client’s needs. At its core is the compliance function - used mainly to initiate and track tax and social insurance compliance. However Global Advantage can offer much more than that - additional functions include Mobility Management, Business Travel Analyser, Immigration Tracker and GAIN.

Compliance Function

Our GA Organiser has been designed to reduce assignee and global mobility manager frustrations associated with separate home and host tax questionnaires that often contain redundant and duplicative questions. We recognise that our clients do not want to provide the same data to us more than once. Our GA Organiser is therefore truly global and provides the following:

  • Leading edge technology
  • A central location to provide tax data
  • An internet accessible solution to provide assignee data
  • Pre-populated data from the prior year
  • Intuitive questions – the number of questions the assignee is asked, directly relates to their specific circumstances
  • Online help to assist the assignee through the process of providing data
  • A secure method for accomplishing all of the above

Our GA Calendar is used by assignees to keep track of their days at home and abroad. It is GPS friendly.

Mobility Management

Mobility Management is a web-based, interactive tool for tracking and managing the lifecycle of a globally mobile population on an intuitive, user-friendly and secure platform. Mobility Management offers a wide variety of functionality and allows clients to create a platform configured for their own unique global mobility requirements.

The functionality is designed to assist companies to:

  • Manage and own their data in one platform to ensure compliance
  • Have strong metrics to measure return on investment for assignees (e.g. monitor employees’ career progression, locations, cost, etc.)
  • Streamline processes and underpin them with technology which can deliver significant efficiency gains and cost improvements
  • Direct links to internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Provide global access to assignment information through a variety of devices
  • Interact with HR and reward systems through integrated web services (i.e. Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.)
  • Provide a modern, advanced approach to international assignment management.

Business Travel Analyser

While secondments and the permanent transfer of employees are generally tracked through defined HR programs, short term business travel often proves to be a greater challenge. Often the most significant obstacles to companies’ managing a population of business travelers are the identification and monitoring of the employees’ travel. Our approach has evolved to reduce the burden of employee self-identification by harnessing the data that exists in the employer’s systems. Through the power of data analytics, we enable our clients to visualize and proactively manage this population.

Leveraging ‘big data’ we provide dynamic reports that illustrate employee travel patterns, flag the jurisdictions in which employees have triggered potential tax filing obligations, and those individuals approaching thresholds. When business travelers generate employer payroll tax filing obligations, we again leverage the travel data to allocate their employment income across the different jurisdictions (states or countries) in which they worked and provide guidance on payroll instructions for the reporting of income and remittance of taxes.

While leveraging historical data empowers compliance with individual and payroll tax obligations, our approach also incorporates data analytics to yield other insights. These enable an organization to take proactive staffing decisions to manage issues such as permanent establishment that can significantly impact the bottom line.

Immigration Tracker

GA Immigration Tracker and Compliance Dashboards have been developed by us to provide global consistency and transparency across our immigration network.

Immigration Tracker is a global case management tool used to track critical assignee/employee data including key milestones in the immigration application process. This information is then fed daily into interactive compliance dashboards allowing users to view the status of applications by region, business unit, etc.

GAIN

Global Advantage Incentives (Gain) is our market leading equity incentive tool.
It assists our clients to calculate the withholding required on a full range of equity incentives across over 150 jurisdictions. It delivers accuracy, speed and simplicity ensuring compliance for our clients.
