The Irish ICE Desk in New York is led by Anthony O’Halloran a Taxation Senior Manager from Deloitte Ireland LLP. Anthony specialises primarily in international tax for multinational companies investing into Ireland. Anthony also has significant expertise in the area of corporate restructurings and mergers & acquisitions tax.
Anthony works with Irish Companies and inbound multinational clients form the US, UK and Europe. Anthony has extensive experience in advising clients in relation to the due diligence process and group re-organisations. Due to the diverse nature of Anthony’s client portfolio he has gained a wealth of knowledge of a variety of industries. He has experience serving clients in the Pharmaceutical, Technology, Energy & Utilities, Manufacturing and Financial Services.
Educational and professional exams:
Anthony is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a Chartered Tax Consultant (CTA). Anthony obtained a first class honors degree in BSC Accountancy from University College Cork.
- Structuring inbound investment into Ireland and advising numerous multinational corporations in relation to the restructuring of operations/group structure to access the benefit of the 12.5% tax rate in Ireland.
- Significant expertise in the area of IP onshoring, advising groups on how to structure their IP and business operations to maximise the benefits of Ireland’s intellectual property tax regime including advising on IP migration strategies.
- Considerable Mergers & Acquisitions experience, advising on the structure of the transactions, undertaking the tax due diligence aspects (including the co-ordination of multi-jurisdictions reviews), review of legals, and subsequent business integration/rationalisation projects.
- Industry experience as a result of repeat secondments with a listed Irish Plc.
