Conor is a Director working in Deloitte Ireland LLP’s Tax department, and is also one of Deloitte's brand ambassadors.
Conor graduated from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD with a first class honours’ Master of Accounting degree. He is a member of the Irish Tax Institute and Chartered Institute of Taxation (UK), having completed the Chartered Tax Adviser qualification in both jurisdictions. Conor is also an Associate Chartered Accountant and holds the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (speciality – EU VAT) awarded by the Chartered Institute of Taxation, along with the UK VAT Compliance Diploma awarded by the Association of Taxation Technicians (UK).
Conor delivers tax advice to clients, particularly in the area of tax audits and tax disputes, using his significant professional experience to mitigate or eliminate tax exposures through negotiated settlements with the Revenue Commissioners or through tax litigation. He also provides second opinions on complex tax matters.
Conor specialises in the provision of indirect tax services across all industries, and has a clear focus on identifying opportunities to maximise VAT recoveries and minimise irrecoverable VAT costs. Conor has been repeatedly involved on client engagements which have led to significant victories for the clients concerned, measurable by the substantial tax savings achieved.
Conor represents the Irish geography of Deloitte North and South Europe in the area of indirect tax litigation and dispute resolution, and has been involved in instructing legal counsel to represent taxpayers’ interests at all levels of the Irish tax appeals’ system. Conor has also advised clients on tax disputes in other jurisdictions, including a significant result concerning the applicable time-limit for raising assessments.
