Nicola Flannery

Nicola leads Deloitte Ireland’s Data Privacy practice and is also the Internet Regulation Lead for the Ireland Member Firm. Her industry background is predominantly in Tech organisations, and she has led on some of Deloitte Ireland’s largest privacy engagements across all sectors (TMT, Pharma, FSI, Consumer & Public Sector), supporting clients with all elements of privacy risk.
Nicola has worked at Deloitte since 2016 and is SME in Compliance by Design (Privacy, Data Ethics) as well as having extensive experience across end-to-end data protection. She is also an SME in emerging tech regulations (e.g. AI Act, DSA, DMA, Online Safety) and uses her knowledge and skills to support clients with innovation and brand enhancement using compliance as an enabler, including strategizing, developing and operationalising data protection and internet regulation frameworks and operating models.
Her qualifications include a Masters in Commercial Law and a Diploma in Technology Law. She is a Fellow of the IAPP (FIP) and holds a CIPP/E and CIPM. and has recently been appointed to the IAPP Publications Advisory Board.
