Deloitte’s ‘Maverick’ Challenge to Reach Over 100 B-Schools in Season IV
Campus Maverick 2015
The pan-India campus-corporate connect programme reaches over 15,500 management students.
Mumbai, 30 July 2015 — Deloitte a large professional services organization, has launched Season IV of ‘Maverick’, its signature industry-academia connect programme. A popular event in B-Schools across India, Maverick has doubled its reach to more than 100 B-Schools this season. The programme connects with students across campuses using an engaging business simulation format. This year over 15,500 students have registered to participate in Maverick.
“This unique programme is designed and developed to help create a future workforce that is skilled and trained to succeed in a corporate organization. With more schools than ever, Season IV of Maverick gives us an exclusive opportunity to access talent beyond our regular hiring,” said S.V. Nathan, Senior Director and Chief Talent Officer, Deloitte India. “Millennials have a spark that can be disruptive and engaging, and programmes like the Maverick help Deloitte to continue to benefit from their fresh thinking,” he added.
Maverick is focused on inspiring unconventional thinking, a solutions mindset, leadership behaviours and client service competencies among the future workforce, and help skill India by preparing students for the challenges of a rapidly evolving business world. Held in a multi-stage elimination format, participants are challenged to experience the life of a consultant in a global professional services organization and demonstrate new-age competencies that define success in the corporate world, thereby helping them become life-ready and career-ready for India Inc.
This year, the regional qualifiers for the Maverick programme are being held across North, South, East and West of India – and the top teams from each of the regions will compete for the Maverick 2015 title at the grand finale in Deloitte’s Hyderabad office on September 04, 2015.
Apart from the main business solutions challenge, three additional competitions are held on the sidelines of Maverick to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents. The ‘War of Bands’ is held for music bands in the campuses to compete against each other, and win a chance to play at the regional rounds and at the grand finale. ‘Be the One’ is a unique contest where students are encouraged to send in their personal story of successes/ achievements that helped shape them into the person they are. Students with the most compelling stories stand a chance to share their stories during the regional rounds and win prizes. ‘Roll the Reel’ is the third contest that is aimed at providing students with the opportunity to unleash their creative skills leveraging videos and new-age motion graphics. Winning entries will be played at the regional rounds and at the grand finale.
