Deloitte in India ranked among Top 10 Best Companies for Working Mothers in India, second time in a row

The Working Mother Best Companies for Women award is a prestigious one, and a much sought after recognition by global organisations. The assessment leading to the recognition was based on several market differentiators and initiatives supporting women professionals.

S.V. Nathan, Chief Talent Officer, was honoured with the Choice of Jury, Male Ally Legacy award, which has been introduced in India for the first time. This award celebrates an iconic male leader who has supported the cause of women professionals and their career advancement.

“Retaining the Top 10 position in the rankings is testimony to our commitment towards cultivating a gender inclusive culture and leadership, in facilitating and developing women as leaders in workplaces,” he said.

The needs of working mothers are high on our list of priorities. This reflects in our extensive maternity coaching program, which eases the transition into maternity and integration back into the workplace thereafter, by extending a host of facilities at work, and counselling sessions. To nurture a system of allies who support the expectant mother, counselling also extends to the spouse, and the reporting manager.

Building a strong leadership pipeline of women professionals is key, and DRiWE, our dedicated learning and development program for women colleagues, caters to this objective.

Platforms for women to discuss workplace issues relevant to them, and actively contribute to improving offerings, are being set up and strengthened across the firm, and in individual businesses.

A lead indicator in our upcoming inclusion framework is to also have male champions/allies in each function and service line, who would support the overall development of women, and foster an increased number of women professionals in project management, client facing, and senior leadership roles.

It all stems from the firm’s cultural framework, a set of prescribed behaviours for our people. Apart from a commitment to clients, innovation, and collaboration, it also spells out a commitment to inclusion, and to developing talent. We recognise colleagues who embody these behaviours in word and deed.
