V-Guard on finance digital transformation

V-Guard Industries Limited is an electrical appliances manufacturer with a pan-India presence. With Project Falcon, V-Guard embarked on its finance digitization and transformation journey with an objective to drive business partnering and delivering friction free and robust finance processes supported by a Finance Team ready to embrace digital in their ways of working.

A few examples of the interventions that V-Guard took up were as follow:

• Implemented a finance organisation structure which embedded a business partner organisation for driving strategic finance and a central business services team for operational finance
• Re-engineered and simplified finance processes enabled by automation, interfaced with e-commerce platforms
• Re-defined ways of working by embedding process effectiveness measures in processes, and designing an oversight analytics framework to enable exceptions tracking and reporting
• Accelerated time to book close enabling early business decisions
• Enhancements in the current SAP system to bring in automation
• Implemented SAP Analytics Cloud for self-service dashboards which enabled dimensional profitability and cost analysis
• A re-designed financial planning process supported through annual financial planning, rolling forecasts through an Oracle EPM stack
• Well defined roles, responsibilities and performance metrics for the finance team
