(Amendment) Bill, 2013
Addressing some of the key implications of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013
In order to have an effective and exhaustive framework to combat corruption, a bill was introduced in the Rajya Sabha in August 2013 to amend the existing Prevention of Corruption Act (“Prevention of Corruption Act (Amendment) Bill, 1988'). While the added and revised provisions will come into effect only after the Parliament gives its nod, the Cabinet on 9 January 2014 provided its post-facto approval to introduce the amendments.
