Amit Bansal

Amit is a Partner in Financial Advisory at Deloitte India and leads Dispute & Litigation and Antitrust/ Competition Advisory practices. Amit is also the sector leader for the Infrastructure sector for Deloitte’s Financial Advisory Function in India.

Amit has an overall experience of over 27 years across various roles covering credit assessments, business strategy, commercial contracts, investment banking, PE investments, forensic investigations, commercial disputes and antitrust matters. As part of forensic investigations, Amit has led multiple engagements covering probing allegations of inappropriate award of contract, violation of anti-trust regulations, improprieties of conduct in business operations, financial mis-reporting, allegations of corruption and supply chain assessments. On the dispute side, Amit has led commercial dispute engagements requiring expert intervention for computation of claims/counter-claims, breach of contracts (shareholder agreements, JV agreements, non-compete covenants, non-performance of SLAs), delay assessment for construction contracts, forensic audit of financial statements etc. He has worked on some large and complex commercial disputes cutting across sectors, predominantly in infrastructure, construction, power, real estate, mines and minerals and travel & other services sectors. The reports in some of these engagements have been submitted in domestic arbitrations/ litigations/ mediations as well as international arbitrations/ mediations. Amit has worked on multiple antitrust investigations and economic assessments for multiple sectors including logistics/ports, automobiles, water management, cement, paper and consumer travel.

Amit is an electrical engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. Prior to joining DTTILLP, Amit has worked with organizations like Credit Analysis & Research (in credit ratings and advisory), CRISIL Ltd. (infrastructure advisory), Edelweiss (investment banking for infrastructure & real-estate sector), Old Lane (private equity investments in infrastructure & real-estate sector) and KPMG (Forensics in Infrastructure & real-estate).
