Middle East Hospitality Sentiment survey

The impact of COVID-19 on the industry

This Deloitte Middle East hospitality survey report is the first in its series and is based on data drawn from an online survey of sector professionals across the region. The survey is intended to identify the impact of COVID-19, and provide a
periodic barometer of market sentiment to our clients and businesses.

The hotel industry has been heavily affected by the pandemic with both occupancy and ADR suffering. The survey findings suggest that the market
recovery to 2019 levels is not expected until the end of 2023, or later. However, many hospitality companies are using this downtime to revise their business strategy, and build resilience towards the new normal.
