Please find below a brief summary of the topics discussed, along with the soft copy of the presentation for your records.

We recently held a Tax webinar surrounding Qatar’s new Tax administration portal, Dhareeba which came into effect on 1 July 2020.

“Dhareeba is an electronic system that connects the General Tax Authority and its partners from the relevant government agencies and taxpayers. It automatically calculates and processes the various types of tax to assist taxpayers in managing their tax transactions, in accordance with the Qatari tax laws”.

During the session, our Tax experts discussed the requirements that both the tax agents and taxpayers need to follow by adhering to the following:

  • All registered taxpayers on the existing Tax Administrative System (TAS) portal must be registered in Dhareeba.
  • All new registration requests from 1 July, 2020 will be processed in Dhareeba only and the GTA shall not accept any request to register a new entity on TAS.
  • All taxpayers must be registered within 90 days as per Article 69 of the Executive Regulations accompanying the Income Tax Law no. 24 of 2018. i.e. 30 September, 2020.
  • The GTA will waive any penalties for not previously registering on TAS and obtaining a tax card for all taxpayers who register on Dhareeba before 30 September, 2020.

It is essential for your business to be compliant with the new tax system and to be registered before 30 September, 2020 in order to avoid any fees or penalties. We will keep you appraised of any changes or updates released in accordance with Dhareeba.
