Herve Ballantyne

Herve is an Audit & Assurance Partner in our Dubai office with over 30 years of experience in the profession. Prior to joining Deloitte Dubai in May 2016, Herve was a Senior Director in the Jeddah Office, where he was in charge of the Audit & Assurance department for over 18 years.

As the Middle East Chairman of the Board, Herve manages and to provides leadership to the Board of Directors of the Deloitte Middle East, accountable to the Board and acts as a direct liaison between the Board and the Executive of the Middle East Firm, through the CEO, Mr. Omar Fahoum. In Dubai, Herve is responsible for the delivery of Deloitte’s multidisciplinary services to the Dubai market. In his role as Managing Partner Herve is responsible for all aspects of practice management including relationships with regulators and key clients, risk management, the development and implementation of resource management and he takes an active interest in the development of the firm’s professional staff and specialist industry capabilities.

Herve has led numerous audit assignments in most industry sectors including; Lead Audit & Assurance Partner on Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation (Saudia) and its related subsidiaries and SBU’s, including Saudia Catering Company. Lead Audit & Assurance Audit Partner on Arabian Industrial Fibers Co (Ibn Rushd), Saudi Arabian Lube Additive Company, Yanbu National Petrochemical Company (YANSAB) and Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Co (YANPET), and the two P&G manufacturing subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia. Lead Audit & Assurance Partner on the Abdul Latif Jameel Group of Companies, Lead Audit & Assurance Senior Director on many contracting entities to include Alstom in Jeddah and divisions of the Saudi Bin Ladin Group Limited and many of its subsidiaries, including Construction Products Holding Company (“CPC”), the Roots Group and Arabian Bemco.Herve has also held several additional Leadership roles including, Dubai Office Managing Partner, Middle East Regulatory Partner, Chairman of the Compensation Committee and Consumer & Transport Business Leader.

Herve is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). In addition to Herve’s Deloitte role, Herve is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), advisory board representing the Middle East region. Herve is married with a young daughter, Herve enjoys travel, reading, music and spending time with family and friends.
