FKA

FKA is an Association of Women Business Leaders in Iceland

 

(Félag kvenna í atvinnulífinu in Icelandic - it´s abbreviation in Icelandic is FKA)

FKA is a non-profit professional network for Icelandic business leaders. It was founded in april 1999 and it´s core was to support women to manage and grow their business.  

THE AIMS OF FKA:

  • To bring together women business leaders in order to make them stronger and more noticed in the business world and in the society. 
  • To encourage exchange of ideas and knowledge and sharing of experiences, both national and international, between its members. 
  • To promote business between FKA women. 
  • To promote exchanges, relationships and development of national and international contacts aimed at reinforcing partnerships and access to new markets. 
  • To encourage FKA women to use all possible means in order to re-educate themselves and be aware of all the latest developments which may effect the operation of their business.  
  • To make FKA business women a respected target group in the society for opinions, comments and guidance

SI - the Federation of Iceland Industries a network of contacts which looks after the complex and different interests of industrial companies. The federation is all in one a service-, communication-, information- and safety network.

SI has around 1200 members, both companies and employer organisations. They are quite different from each other in terms of size, products and markets. This variety makes our job challenging and necessary at the same time. We take care to emphasize what the companies have in common while also looking after individual needs. The successful implementation of this strategy has made SI - the Federation of Icelandic Industries the largest and most influential employer organisation in the country.

SI - the Federation of Icelandic Industries looks after the interests of industry in every way and in close co-operation with the individual enterprise. The work is based on strategic work done by nine occupational work groups and over twenty organisations. The service available to members is on one hand individual to the enterprize or occupational work group and on the other general in such matters as quality, education, marketing and public relations.

Amongst the federation's tasks is to:

  • Improve the general working environment by influencing government policy
  • Monitor international trends in management
  • Monitor and influence Iceland´s international position, particularly in european context
  • Increase efficiency by introducing new and imroved management methods
  • Make sure rules are followed in the marketplace
  • Encourage co-operation between companies
  • Give service and advice

About Innovation Center Iceland

Innovation Center Iceland encourages innovation and promotes the advancement of new ideas in Icelandic economy by providing active participation and support to entrepreneurs and businesses. Innovation is a prerequisite for diversity in the Icelandic economy and the basis of a strong competitive position of the economy. Innovation Center Iceland belongs to the Ministry of Industry and Innovation and operates according to the Act on Government Support for Technology, Research, Innovation and Industry (no. 75/2007).

The interplay of technological consulting and business support is the greatest strength of Innovation Center Iceland. A group of specialists in different fields encourage innovation and support the advance of new ideas through research, development projects, business development and professional advice and consulting.
