In order to provide the Fast 50 and Rising Star winners with some helpful tips on how to reach their next growth stage Deloitte reached out to a few prominent actors in the innovation arena in Iceland. The good people at Arion bank, Eyrir Invest, Frumtak and Investa have agreed to dedicate some time of their busy schedule to provide the winners with input on their plans and advice on how it they can reach their objectives.
We at Arion bank want to create a fertile and stimulating environment for start-up companies in Iceland and has organized various projects and events designed to support innovation in this country.
We support innovation at companies by providing funding and professional advice to help them achieve their goals. Arion Bank’s main seed investment programme is Startup Reykjavík, which recently received the Nordic Startup Awards. Its objective is to create an environment where entrepreneurs can receive advice and guidance from experienced mentors in order to realize their ideas and thereby create new business opportunities.
Investa is an early stage investor in some of Iceland's most innovative startups. We invest primarily in companies in the technology sector offering products and solutions that have an international appeal.
We have ourselves been developing, marketing and selling technology internationally for many years, and work closely with companies in our portfolio to help them succeed. In some cases we even take an active role in the management of our portfolio companies. Our policy is to invest in a select few startups and spend a lot of time with them. In addition to investing, we also provide various advisory services from time to time.
Eyrir Invest is an international investment company that focuses on investments in industrial companies that have the potential to become true global leaders. Eyrir places great emphasis on aligning execution with good long-term strategic planning.
Eyrir Sprotar is a fund built on Eyrir Invest´s long tradition, and strong platform, to participate through active ownership in start-up and growth companies, supporting further growth and scalability. Investments to date have been in companies to which Eyrir Sprotar believes it can add considerable value through ownership and by capitalizing on existing growth possibilities.
Frumtak was founded December 23rd. 2008. The objective was to invest in early stage growth companies that were post seed and had growth potential. At the close of Frumtak‘s investment period on December 31st. 2012, the fund had invested in fifteen companies with nine investments still active. Frumtak 2 started in February 2015.
The fund builds on the legacy of Frumtak. The fund invests in early stage innovative companies that are post seed and show great potential for growth. Frumtak 2 emphasizes to invest in companies where growth and sales in foreign markets are the primary objective, but does not specialize in any particular industry.

NSA Ventures is an evergreen fund that has invested in over 145 companies since its inception in 1998. We currently have a portfolio of 39 companies. The majority of the our direct investments are in Technology and the Life Sciences.
