Deloitte Announces First Asia Pacific Leader from Japan
Japan Deputy CEO Yoichiro Ogawa to lead region from 1 June 2015

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) today announced that Yoichiro Ogawa has been appointed as the new Global Managing Director for Asia Pacific. He assumes the new role starting 1 June 2015 for a term of four years.
Mr. Ogawa's appointment is part of the new leadership team put in place by Punit Renjen, the new DTTL Global CEO whose term also commenced on 1 June 2015. Punit Renjen succeeds Barry Salzberg, who has served as Global CEO for the past four years.
Mr. Ogawa’s appointment has been made with the full support of both Deloitte Global and regional member firm leaders and in his new role he will be responsible for driving market leadership and quality across the region, while strengthening the Deloitte brand and redefining client service delivery. Additionally he’ll be tasked with identifying new opportunities for further growth, while working with member firm leaders across multiple markets to drive the firm’s strategy through greater connectivity and collaboration.

In addition to the Asia Pacific Regional leadership role, Mr. Ogawa will also become the DTTL Global Managing Director of Regions and will serve as a member of the DTTL Executive and Operating Committees.
Mr. Ogawa is currently Deputy CEO of Deloitte Japan and was the Vice Chairman of the DTTL Board for the past four years. He has more than 30 years of professional experience as an audit professional and lead client partner at Deloitte, including 9 years in the United States serving Japanese Global Strategic Clients.
Mr. Ogawa takes over the role from Chaly Mah, who will continue in his role as the Deloitte Southeast Asia CEO and as a member of the DTTL Board. Under Mr. Mah’s leadership, Deloitte in Asia Pacific has seen remarkable and transformative growth with revenues nearly doubling during his tenure.

In addition to Mr. Ogawa’s appointment, other significant leadership changes across the region have been made. New senior executive appointments include Cindy Hook as the CEO for Deloitte Australia, N. Venkatram as the CEO for Deloitte India and Denny Kuo as the CEO for Deloitte Taiwan.
