TOKYO, JAPAN, October 12, 2018 —Deloitte Tohmatsu Group was awarded with the best prize "Gold Award" in the Pride Index 2018, which was given out by a voluntary organization called "work with Pride" to acknowledge LGBT initiatives.
Pride Index is the very first guideline in Japan established in 2016, to measure the initiatives over sexual minorities such as LGBT in the work environment. It has been set as a guideline for companies to recognize requirements to be a LGBT-friendly environment and promote internal initiatives, etc.
Deloitte Tohmatsu has been promoting LGBT-related initiatives, as part of the various initiatives to achieve an inclusive corporate culture. Specifically, we have changed policies to include same-sex partners into corporate fringe benefit eligibility, LGBT specific consultation team, and Inclusion training for all Partners and Members with LGBT related topics. In addition, we will add all-gender restrooms in the new Tokyo office expected to open next March.
By taking this opportunity, Deloitte Tohmatsu Group will accelerate to build an environment in which all individuals can bring out their best performance while being true to oneself, and understand and respect each other's sexual orientation and gender identities.
