Theodorus is an all-round risk management professional with deep expertise in security risk management and a special interest in cyber, crisis and resilience. His focus is on identifying and reducing complex, ineffective and static security controls, aiming to redirect released resources to enhance capabilities to anticipate, understand and resolve potential disruptive emerging issues and crises.
He helps transform siloed, one-dimensional security departments into joint enterprise-wide corporate security functions developing a strategy and operating model encompassing all security domains in order to coordinate security efforts and capabilities across the whole organization, ensures alignment across the different organizational levels and to provide one coherent view on and comprehensive insight into security.
He has held leadership positions in both Cyber Risk Services and Strategic Risk. He has extensive experience with servicing clients in Oil & Gas, Banking, Telecommunications, Utilities and Transport & Logistics and gained international experience through leading and managing engagements in China, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Romania, Germany, UK, USA and Scandinavia.
He is a former intelligence officer of the AIVD, the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands, specializing in counter espionage and counter terrorist operations. Theodorus started his career as a short service professional in the Royal Netherlands Army and held various leadership positions in cavalry and armored infantry units and was deployed to Bosnia Herzegovina with NATO in 1996.
