Deloitte unleashes the power of diversity and inclusion, and goes ALL IN with Gender Equality Cayman
Deloitte has reinforced its commitment to maintaining an organization where everyone has equal opportunity to grow, develop, and succeed; to essentially be their truest selves, both professionally and personally.
The “ALL IN: Accelerating gender and inclusion” strategy is designed to deliver exceptional experiences, and outlines Deloitte’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to accelerating representation of women in leadership roles.
George Town, Cayman Islands - March, 8 2019
While a primary focus area of ALL IN is on accelerating women in leadership, impact of the ALL IN strategy will extend to all under-represented minorities and will promote a more inclusive culture for all. Inclusive behaviours generate inclusive cultures, and Deloitte is therefore devoted to strengthening and sustaining a culture that is safe for individuals to express themselves freely and fully. There is a holistic view of diversity that looks beyond usual measurements. A view that includes the varied perspectives and aspirations of Deloitte’s people, because it is understood and appreciated that new ideas come from diverse backgrounds and different ways of seeing things.
Stuart Sybersma, Managing Partner, Deloitte Cayman Islands stated, "We are 'ALL IN' and fully committed to this initiative. Gender parity and Inclusion is everyone’s responsibility - and we all need to take action to achieve it more quickly. ALL IN matters at all levels of our organization. It is a long-term investment – we cannot change gender representation in leadership overnight, but we can cultivate an environment where we are developing the next generation of women leaders for years to come."
Mr. Sybersma further indicated, "We should acknowledge that indeed there are differences between individuals, cultures, and generations in the working environment. Respecting, embracing and drawing strength from these differences allows us to create the best possible outcomes for our clients, our people and society."
Both globally, regionally and locally, Deloitte has aligned its purpose - to make an impact that matters with clients, people and society - with efforts related to enhancing diversity and inclusion, and accelerating gender equality across all levels.
In addition to the Gender Equality Cayman pledge, Deloitte supports this commitment locally by sponsoring women’s professional associations such as 100 Women in Finance, Business & Professional Women’s Club (BPW), International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), by supporting mentoring programs such as GirlForce 100, and various charitable organizations and Government bodies with the common goal to promote health, well-being and development opportunities for women and girls in the Cayman Islands.
