Deloitte commitment to the public interest goes back to the origins of our organisation. Today the Deloitte Shared Values bind our people together across cultures, customs and languages. Along with the Ethical Principles, one of which is „responsibility to society“, these values define the way business is done in every Deloitte member firm all over the world. We are confident that this approach will foster our success in the long term.

Corporate responsibility is also the foundation of all our activities in Lithuania. This comes not only from the global commitment, but also from our strong belief that, as an influential member of Lithuanian society, we can make a positive impact to its economic and social structures.

We demonstrate this by our responsible behavior in four main areas:

  • Relations with our employees;
  • Relations with the corporate community;
  • Social activities;
  • Environmentally sustainable operations.

Relations with Our Employees

As an important member of the Lithuanian business community, we operate as a thought leader and in a manner that sets an example to the business community as a whole. We provide the highest quality professional services to our clients and we take ethics, integrity and fair business practice very seriously. This approach is the fundamental part of our business culture and everything we do.

An Employer of Choice committee is established within the firm, the members of which are volunteers from our different departments. The committee has regular meetings to discuss ways of improving work environment as well as the aspects of work-life balance.

Relations with the Corporate Community

We are constantly looking for ways to improve the Lithuanian business environment. We share our knowledge, ideas and initiatives during seminars, conferences and discussions on topical business issues. We are active members of the following organisations:

  • Investors Forum;
  • Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance;
  • Norwegian-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce;
  • Danish Chamber of Commerce;
  • American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania;
  • Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania;
  • Lithuanian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association;
  • Lithuanian Association of the Responsible Business (LAVA).

We also cooperate with:

  • Invest Lithuania;
  • Enterprise Lithuania.

Social Activities

We strongly believe that the education and development of people is one of the key factors in Lithuanian economic, scientific and social development. Therefore, we strive to increase the cooperation between the business and academic sectors and help people excel.

As part of this responsibility to the community, we are a regular sponsor and participant of university events: workshops, career days and numerous other developmental initiatives.

Each year, we take part in the programme Student's Work Experience Week in cooperation with the School of Success. During the project, we give the opportunity to active and motivated high-school students to familiarise with the Deloitte work environment and operation of our departments and to witness daily challenges of our professionals. Thus, we aim to add to the effort of developing successful, active and responsible citizens in Lithuania by encouraging continuous democratic education.

We are the sponsor and partner of the national business plan competition, Verslauk!. The initiative encourages young people to implement their ideas and start up their businesses. The most outstanding participants win subsidies for their startups. We find it meaningful to be a part of it not only financially, but also to share our experience, advice and knowledge to build a new business and another Lithuanian success story.

Deloitte is the member of mentoring programme, LT Big Brother 2014, initiated by Global Lithuanian Leaders organisation. The Managing Partner of Deloitte Lietuva UAB is glad about the opportunity to see into the essence of mentoring and to apply its concept by encouraging youths' development, career planning and by advising on future choices of professional or academic path.

For over 10 years now, we are among the organisers of Būkime kartu event, the purpose of which is raising charity to children's foster homes and daycare centres.

We are also partners of the charitable initiative supporting children in economically and socially disadvantaged families, organised by the non-profit organisation, Pastebek mane.

We cooperate with the international Catholic organisation, Caritas, supporting Vilnius All Saints Parish Temporary Child Care Home.

Sustaining transparent business in Lithuania, we perform a pro bono study on the transparency of Lithuanian enterprises in cooperation with Transparency International Lithuanian Chapter.

We also actively support the initiative of Transparency International, School on Integrity. It is a week-long event introducing enterprise transparency standards to students. Discussions and workshops take place; Deloitte corporate responsibility professionals participate in Q&A sessions and conversations.

Environmentally Sustainable Operations

We are concerned about the environment in which we operate as well as climate change and sustainability. We therefore try to minimise the adverse impact of our activities on the environment by:

  • Using energy efficient equipment and technology in our workplace;
  • Utilising teleconferencing and videoconferencing technologies which enhance meeting quality and reduce the need to travel;
  • Joining the annual public cleaning campaign, Darom.
