In her role as Real Estate sector leader for Deloitte Luxembourg and DCE, Lize has the primary responsibility for the real estate services across our audit, tax and consulting functions and driving related business initiatives and activities. She has over 20 years’ experience with a focus on the real estate investment fund sector which includes regulated and unregulated direct real estate funds, property companies and real estate debt funds.
Nick is a partner within the audit department and has over 20 years' experience in this area. He has enjoyed experiences in three other international Deloitte offices. Nick has gained vast experience working on a diverse portfolio of audit engagements within the financial services industry and is now specialized in both regulated and unregulated private equity funds. Nick has extensive experience in LuxGAAP and IFRS and is leading the Assurance Services team.
Benjamin is a Partner in our Cross Border Tax – Mergers & Acquisitions department and has 13 years in aggregate of experience in international tax with a specific focus on Debt, Real Estate and Investment Funds. Prior to being appointed Director, he spent almost 2 years in the Deloitte International Tax Centre of Excellence for the Middle East and North Africa region located in Dubai where he oversaw and coordinated M&A transactions across the Middle East and overseas. Benjamin was also seconded to the Luxembourg desk of our US office in 2009. Benjamin has an extensive experience in structuring cross-border transactions for Luxembourg or foreign investment funds. He also assisted many investors in establishing their fund vehicles in Luxembourg whether regulated or not. Benjamin is leading the credit funds business for tax since 2018. Benjamin holds a Master Degree in European Business Law from the Université of Paris-XI and a Master Degree in Management and Law from HEC Paris.
Francisco is the Partner in the M&A department leading the Real Estate Tax group. Francisco is currently assisting a wide variety of public and private clients in the Real Estate and Infrastructure industry. As part of his work, Francisco handles international tax structuring advice for these client and assists in determining the most efficient tax structure for the purposes of (i) financing, (ii) on-going repatriation mechanics and (iii) exit/divestment. As part of this work, Francisco handles a team of tax professionals in Luxembourg and is in frequent contact with the Deloitte affiliated offices so as to offer the most suitable and tailor made solution to his clients. Aside from this, Francisco handles Latin America and Southern European business development, counting with a multilingual team of Portuguese, Spanish, Brazilian, and Peruvian professionals for these purposes. As a part of these efforts, Francisco travels frequently to Latin America, Portugal and Spain and is a frequent speaker on conferences related to tax structuring in these countries. Francisco is a Lawyer registered in the Portuguese Bar Association and since beginning of his career has always performed its activity in the field of international tax. Having started in Lisbon in Andersen’s VAT department where he then moved to the International Tax Department, Francisco was also in charge of the Madeira representation of one of the most reputed law firms in Portugal and worked as well as Tax Lawyer in the Lisbon representation of a Spanish Law firm, before joining Deloitte Luxembourg in 2008. Francisco is a frequent speaker in conferences and author of several articles related to International Tax.
