Valuation challenges in credit institutions and investment firms

Sound valuation practices and the associated risks are increasingly important for regulators in the banking and the investment firms industry. This can be seen in several recently published regulations (MiFiD, CRD IV, EMIR, IFRS) which underline the requirements affecting valuation. Deloitte Luxembourg organized a conference focusing on valuation challenges in credit institutions and investment firms.

Our panelists from the banking industry shared their practical views and experiences on various valuation challenges they face in their organizations. Moreover, they reviewed the various products or services impacted by valuation challenges, the interconnections between the different regulatory frameworks and assess how efficient valuation processes can help reduce risks, comply with rules, enhance value creation.
