It is official: CSDR settlement discipline regime postponed until 1 February 2022
29 January 2021
Regulatory News Alert
On 27 January 2021, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/70 amending Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/1229 concerning the regulatory technical standards (RTS) on settlement discipline was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ).
As covered in our previous alert on the topic, market participants have indicated that the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously affected the overall implementation of regulatory projects and delivery of information technology (IT) systems necessary to apply the settlement discipline regime (SDR) requirements.
The European Commission considered this feedback and decided to give the market more time to complete the necessary preparations. Consequently, the entry into force of the SDR has been postponed until 1 February 2022.
