IT departments are constantly asked to deliver more with less and ensure a higher level of service orientation. This pressure is often due to a low level of understanding of what IT departments are actually delivering as well as how those services are delivered. This is partly IT’s own fault, as IT departments often are poor at explaining what they deliver, and little standardization and official serviceprovider-attitude holds IT back.
