Internal Whistleblower System
All public institutions and private companies with more than 50 employees are required to establish an internal whistleblower system.
Facts you should know:
•The Whistleblowing Law came into force on May 1, 2019.
•The Whistleblowing Law stipulates that all public persons (state, municipal institutions and state-owned enterprises) as well as private companies with more than 50 employees are required to establish an internal whistleblower system.
•The whistleblower system will make it easier to: (1) detect and prevent illegal activities within the company, (2) improve corporate culture (work environment), (3) preemptively protect your company against sanctions implemented by public authorities and potential litigation, (4) maintain good reputation, (5) fight against dishonest employees.
•If your company / institution does not have an internal whistleblower system in place, the whistleblower will be able to act by: 1) submitting an whistleblower application to the competent authority immediately, or 2) addressing the media immediately.
•The whistleblowing process also includes issues of personal data protection of individuals.
