Deloitte tops survey for sustainability consulting and assurance services
260 executives polled on brand preferences
New York, 26 November 2014 – Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (Deloitte Global) is pleased to announce that Deloitte ranks first in brand preference for both sustainability consulting and sustainability assurance worldwide, according to a global survey conducted by independent research firm Verdantix.
In two separate reports, entitled Global Sustainability Survey 2014: Consulting Brands and Global Sustainability Survey 2014: Assurance Brands, Deloitte topped the rankings, placing ahead of other Big 4 competitors as well as smaller, specialist sustainability service providers.
“Sustainability issues are increasingly important to organizations and have attracted the attention of world leaders, executive management, and boards,” said Adel Melek, Managing Director, Enterprise Risk Services, Deloitte Global. “We believe the Verdantix survey results reflect the investment and commitment Deloitte has made to sustainability services.”
In conducting their surveys, Verdantix interviewed 260 senior sustainability leaders at organizations with annual revenues from $250 million to over $20 billion, representing 21 industries and 13 territories. For the consulting report, Verdantix asked survey participants about current and future engagements with, and their perception of, 22 sustainability strategy services and business consulting firms. For the assurance report, Verdantix asked survey respondents about their brand recognition of, and engagement with, 17 assurance providers that offer sustainability verification services.
“The high regard that these sustainability leaders hold for Deloitte is both gratifying and validating,” said Eric Dugelay, Global Leader, Sustainability Services, Deloitte Global. “Deloitte built its sustainability practice into a preeminent position by attracting the best talent and providing high quality services across the full spectrum of sustainability issues.”
