Overseas staff secondment opportunities

People first. That is true at Deloitte. It means opportunities, challenging and rewarding assignments, international experience, learning and development, and the flexibility to find your own career path.

Read to find out more about Aung Chit Su Su, Assistant Manager of Audit & Assurance at Deloitte Myanmar, as she shares about her 3-month secondment experience (February to April 2017) to Deloitte Singapore.

1. How would you describe your experience in Singapore?
Working at Deloitte Singapore is a very good opportunity to learn about the firm’s audit procedures and engagement management system. Also, we had the chance to experience the living standards in Singapore, and this widens our knowledge about the country.

2. How did you feel about your overall experience? Did it meet your expectations?
Exceeds my expectations! All my expectations to gain experience and knowledge, as well as to learn more about audit strategies at Deloitte Singapore, have been fulfilled, and I’m really grateful for the experience.

3. How do you enjoy spending your leisure time in Singapore?
I like to visit interesting places in Singapore as well as shopping with my friends. We visited interesting spots like Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Sentosa and Universal Studios, and love shopping at Jurong East (JEM) and Bugis Junction.

4. What is one quote you live by and why?
“Stay patient and trust your journey” is my favourite quote. This quote gives me encouragement during the ups and downs in life.

5. If you could, what from Singapore do you wish to bring back to Myanmar?
I wish to bring my experiences and happy memories back to Myanmar. The most memorable memory was as soon as I arrived at Deloitte Singapore, I was invited to immediately join our team at the client’s office! Also, the experience familiarising myself with the engagement management system is quite unforgettable.

6. Is there anything you would like to say to your colleagues at the Singapore and Myanmar office?

To my Singaporean colleagues:

Hi guys,

Thank you very much for your kind support for everything during my secondment. Although it was a very short period, I could learn a lot from all of you and exchanged our experiences. This was a very precious memory. Hope we can meet again in future.

To my Myanmar colleagues:

Hi everyone,

First of all, I would like to say that thank you so much for your encouragement and understanding, love and care. Really appreciate all of your help during these three months of absence at the Myanmar office. I will share my secondment experience and knowledge with all of you.
