Overseas staff secondment opportunities

People first. That is true at Deloitte. It means opportunities, challenging and rewarding assignments, international experience, learning and development, and the flexibility to find your own career path.

Theint Moh Moh, Assistant Manager, Audit & Assurance Services of Deloitte Myanmar, tells us more of her 3-month secondment to the Deloitte Singapore office.

How would you describe your experience in Singapore, both at and outside of work?
At work, I learnt so much more about the culture of Singapore, and their attitude towards work. Also, I had the chance to pick up additional skills and worked on improving the methodology and communication with clients through the engagements. Working at Deloitte Singapore allowed me to learn much more about the various functions within the organisation.

What do you think of the Singaporean culture? Did you encounter any cultural shock upon arriving in Singapore?
Everything in Singapore is systematic and everyone follows the law and regulations set in place! Also, Singaporeans are rather independent and hardworking but when it’s time to rest, they do so properly.

If you could bring a food item back to Myanmar, what would it be?
Chocolates for my friends. Local dishes like beef noodles too!

How do you enjoy spending your leisure time in Singapore?
I go shopping and watch movies with my friends here.

What is one quote you live by and why?
When you overcome stress, it becomes an experience instead.

Are there any key differences or similarities between Singapore and Myanmar?
Key differences would include the use of technology, thinking, transparency, and how time and resources are spent.

Could you recommend Singaporeans a fun place to visit in Myanmar?
Most tourists will choose to go to Bagan as it is a very attractive and tourist-friendly location.
