Overseas staff secondment opportunities

People first. That is true at Deloitte. It means opportunities, challenging and rewarding assignments, international experience, learning and development, and the flexibility to find your own career path.

Get to know more about our secondment programme from Wint War Oo, Senior Associate, Audit & Assurance Services at Deloitte Myanmar, as she shares more about her experience being seconded to Deloitte Singapore for 3 months and how being a happy-go-lucky person helped in her personal life!

Describe your experience working in Singapore.
It was a rare opportunity for me to be able to experience living and working overseas and I’m glad that I was seconded to Singapore for this role! It was an educating and interesting experience getting to know the Singapore culture, their passion for life and work as well as the latest auditing system at the Deloitte Singapore’s office.

When you first found out that you were seconded to Singapore, how did you feel?
I was very worried yet excited to get this chance to experience audit life in Singapore.

What did you enjoy most from your experience? Could you share some of your highlights?
It was the first time I used Deloitte’s latest auditing system and learnt the ropes of preparing for an audit engagement and document the working documents in detail.

How do you enjoy spending your leisure time in Singapore?
My fellow colleagues from Myanmar and I spent our time shopping and touring the city during weekends to have some fun!

What is a quote that you live by and why?
“New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings” is the quote I live by! Whenever I am feeling down, it reminds me that a new beginning is dawning. I also have a happy-go-lucky personality so nothing ever gets me down for too long.

What would you like to say to your colleagues at the Singapore and Myanmar office?
Thank you for all your understanding and care that you have showered to all of us. It was really nice to have the opportunity to be here, and to meet all of you. I hope we can meet again through future engagements in Myanmar. It’s your turn to come to Myanmar!

To my Myanmar colleagues, thank you guys for always being so supportive and showing us your love! I truly appreciate your help during my 3-month absence from the Myanmar office and I will be back to share the experience with all of you!
