SME Digitalisation Grant Scheme

A new Scheme, SME Digitalisation Grant Scheme (hereinafter the ‘Scheme’), has been issued on 1 July 2022. The Scheme will remain operational until 31 December 2023 and will be administered through a series of competitive calls, with the first call closing on 30 September 2022. The funds for this Scheme have been allocated from the European Commission’s Recovery and Resilience Plan for Malta, under Component 3 of the Plan entitled, ‘Fostering a digital, smart and resilient economy’.

The objective of this Scheme is to assist Small and Medium-Sized enterprises, to undertake investments to digitalise their operations, by addressing new digital capabilities and digitalised processes.

The maximum funding amount under this Scheme is €50,000 per digitalisation investment in digital technologies, part-financing eligible costs up to 50% for investments in Malta and 60% for investments in Gozo. This is subject to an overall capping of €200,000 over a three-year rolling period for aid falling under the de minimis rules.
