Deloitte Careers Fair 2016

Press release

Malta, 10 March 2016 — As the professional services industry expands and develops, the decision on which career path to pursue takes on an even more important role.

Deloitte Malta recently held Deloitte Careers Fair 2016 at its offices in Mriehel as a means of showcasing its career-building opportunities for those considering a career in Professional Services and Information and Communications Technology (ICT), as well as for individuals with experience. Deloitte offers specially designed education programmes leading to opportunities in audit, tax, advisory, consulting and ICT. The fair was opened by the Minister for Education and Employment, the Hon. Evarist Bartolo, followed by the Deloitte Malta CEO Mr Malcolm Booker.

Students and graduates who choose to enrol on one of Deloitte’s educational programmes, are provided with an advantageous opportunity to continuously develop themselves professionally and personally with constant support. This support is passed on during both their studies and on the job. There are a range of different options enabling students to choose whether they would rather work full-time and study part-time or vice versa, or a mix of both.

Deloitte’s Pathway programme is targeted specifically at University students majoring in a degree in Accounts in the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy whilst Deloitte’s LLB and LLD programmes are targeted at Law students with an interest in taxation. This year Deloitte introduced two new Pathway programmes – one for students who wish to pursue a career in Financial Advisory, and another for students who wish to pursue a career in ICT.

Deloitte’s ACA programme allows students to concentrate on their studies for most of the year whilst the Deloitte ACCA programme enables students to balance work with study with the support of Deloitte.

Deloitte’s educational programmes support students and graduates to ensure that Malta’s next generation of business leaders will be provided with a dynamic and rewarding career path.

Deloitte Careers Fair 2016 also saw the launch of the Deloitte Pathway Programme Online chat service – an online chat where students can get immediate access to the information they require about their career.

Deloitte Careers Fair 2016 also featured a number of stands and presentations by different local and international academic institutions including ICAEW, ACCA, AIM Professional Academy, St. Martin’s Institute of Higher Education, Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (University of Malta), Faculty of ICT (University of Malta), MCAST as well as various sixth form colleges including St. Edwards College and St. Martin’s Sixth Form and students organisations including ELSA Malta, JAYE Malta and ASCS.

Malcolm Booker, CEO at Deloitte Malta said, “Whether you are interested in accounts, audit, computing, tax, financial advisory or ICT, there is a place for you. Through our various training programmes we will take you up the career ladder offering first class tuition and a solid work experience providing you with the best foundations for your career. You too can play a part and make an impact that matters”.

Applications for Deloitte’s educational programmes are open until 31 March 2016. Those wishing to apply can visit the Deloitte Pathway Programmes page and submit an online application.
