Deloitte Malta hosts FELTOM annual conference

Press release

10 May 2018

10 May 2018, Malta - Deloitte Malta hosted the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations Malta (FELTOM)’s annual conference.

The FELTOM annual conference looks back at the performance of the English language teaching sector for the previous year based on the sectorial analysis carried out by Deloitte Malta.

Attending the conference were Mr. Evarist Bartolo, the Minister for Education and Employment; Ms. Rebecca Bonnici, Chairperson of FELTOM and Mr. James Perry, CEO of FELTOM.

Raphael Aloisio, Financial Advisory Leader at Deloitte Malta, explained “Deloitte Malta has been reporting on the performance of the English Language Travel (ELT) sector for the past 8 years. The local ELT sector has established itself as one of the niche segments of the tourism sector and the economy in general, accounting for approximately 10.4% of total tourist guest nights and 7.6% of total tourist expenditure. Having said this, the sector cannot afford to rest on the laurels of its successes and must remain focused and reactive to issues as they emerge. It is our conviction that if everyone continues to pull in the same direction the industry will continue to progress in the years ahead”.
