Deloitte, Sustainable Metal Cloud form an alliance to offer end-to-end AI solutions to clients

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 July 2024 – Deloitte and Sustainable Metal Cloud (SMC) have announced an alliance to provide clients in Singapore and Southeast Asia with access to NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU) computing infrastructure to accelerate the development of new artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The alliance combines Deloitte’s experience and expertise in AI with SMC’s energy-efficient NVIDIA GPU-based cloud platform to help clients build new applications that unlock the value and potential of AI technologies, including generative AI (GenAI).

Through this collaboration, Deloitte will support clients in defining and developing business applications that include the use of AI, while SMC will provide the computing infrastructure, including scalable GPU resources needed to run AI applications.

The alliance will bring world-class AI capabilities to organisations in Singapore, in line with the country’s National AI Strategy, which seeks to develop peaks of excellence in AI, to empower people and businesses with the capabilities and resources to thrive in an AI-enabled future, while meeting national sustainability goals1.

SMC offers high-performance AI solutions that support its sustainability goals and AI ambitions. SMC’s recent MLPerf Training benchmark results have demonstrated that its platform uses significantly less energy to train AI models compared to traditional data centres, underscoring the effectiveness of its proprietary single-phase immersion cooling technology. This innovative approach not only enhances performance but also sets new standards for energy efficiency in the industry.

The partnership between Deloitte and SMC will enable the delivery of end-to-end solutions to support clients in their AI journey, including:

  • Ongoing value realisation, with clear impact on business outcomes
  • Access to top-tier sustainable AI services and multi-disciplinary AI talent for scale
  • Scalable access to NVIDIA GPUs for training and inferencing in “all-inclusive” pricing models
  • Software and hardware optimised for AI workloads to ensure low latency and better throughput, while minimising environmental impact through the use of highly efficient infrastructure

Christine AHN, Deloitte’s NVIDIA Alliance Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Businesses need a clear AI strategy to drive value, as well as access to the necessary compute environment to tap GenAI’s potential for transformative change. In response, Deloitte’s alliance with Sustainable Metal Cloud provides end-to-end capabilities for businesses to transform their operations with GenAI, combining Deloitte’s deep industry expertise and service offerings with NVIDIA data center platform technology and Sustainable Metal Cloud’s leading-edge sustainable-conscious infrastructure stack to empower innovation at speed and at scale.”

Chris LEWIN, AI & Data Capability Leader, Deloitte Asia Pacific, said, “AI, and in particular, GenAI, has reached a tipping point from a novel solution to mass application, with the potential to transform entire industries. Together with Sustainable Metal Cloud, we’re excited that we can help our clients navigate the complex business and technical challenges as they deploy and scale AI.”

Meanwhile, Tim ROSENFIELD, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Sustainable Metal Cloud, said, “Our scalable GPU cloud platform combined with Deloitte’s extensive industry expertise and service offerings will energise the market, enabling AI research and GenAI solutions to scale rapidly in the region. For customers, our technology makes building AI workloads easy. We’ve got impressive infrastructure that makes running AI workloads cost-effective, scalable, and now available globally. Our AI factory seamlessly plugs into customers’ environments to cut both the cost and carbon impact of running their workloads. Seeing customers realise the cost and efficiency benefits of our platform is incredibly rewarding for us.”

Deloitte offers a range of AI and GenAI solutions and services at scale to its clients and is a market leader in AI strategy, implementation, and managed services, all of which is founded upon its deep domain and industry expertise to drive sustainable business outcomes. Its proprietary TrustworthyAITM framework incorporates guardrails and mitigates risks throughout production and operation, thus ensuring trust, responsibility, and safety in the deployment of AI. Deloitte has a long-standing alliance with NVIDIA, which includes innovating with clients at the Deloitte Center for AI Computing. In 2023, Deloitte won the NVIDIA Partner Network’s Consulting Partner of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year.

SMC, an NVIDIA Partner Network cloud partner in Singapore, delivers cutting-edge GPU computing infrastructure and platforms. The platform achieves unprecedented energy efficiency, making its GPU clusters both high-performing and the most sustainable option available. This innovative approach not only reduces the carbon footprint for customers, but also ensures they can access cost-effective scalability for their AI workloads.
