The Deloitte Audit Business Challenge (DABC) is open to all undergraduate university and college students pursuing an accounting and/or finance degree in Malaysia.

Participants must work in teams for the challenge. Each team will consist of three (3) members.

Stage 1 of the Challenge - 06 November 2023

  • Your team will be given an online multiple-choice question test.
  • The online test will begin on 6 November 2023 (Monday) - 7 November 2023 (Tuesday), from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • There are 40 multiple-choice questions (including areas on auditing, accounting, ethics, finance, the Companies Act 2016).
  • Each team should assign one (1) representative to access the questions and complete the challenge. It is expected that the team addresses the questions together.
  • The representative will be given sixty (60) minutes to complete the online test from the first login. The total time used to complete the online test will be monitored and will form part of the overall assessment.

 

Stage 2 of the Challenge - 10 November 2023

  • In Stage 2, the deliverable is a video submission of no longer than five (5) minutes.
  • The topic will be released on 7 November 2023 (Tuesday), via e-mail and DABC’s Facebook page.
  • Challengers are required to upload a video clip on YouTube, by 6.00 p.m. on 10 November 2023 (Friday). The visibility of the video presentation must be set to private and shared with the evaluators via an e-form. Late entries will not be entertained.
  • Marks will be awarded based on content, depth of issues, research analysis adopted, critical thinking, creativity, and overall presentation.
  • Please note that videos will not be judged based on editing skills. However, please ensure that the video’s visuals and audio are clear.
  • Challengers have full creative control over their video presentation.

 

Final Stage of the Challenge: Game Station - 18 November 2023

  • A workshop will be conducted for all finalists before the final challenge.
  • The final stage will be held on 18 November 2023 (Saturday) at a dedicated venue which will be communicated to finalists via e-mail.
  • There will be simulated audit scenarios represented by a few game stations, and finalists will have to complete each individual game station according to the instruction given.


Final Stage of the Challenge: Presentation - 21 November 2023

  • After completing the game stations, finalists will be required to prepare a 10-minute presentation for our esteemed judges on 21 November 2023 (Tuesday).
  • Marks will be accumulated from each game station as well as the presentation.
  • All finalists will be invited to attend the Prize Giving Ceremony.
  • Results will be announced at the Prize Giving Ceremony and published on DABC’s Facebook page and website.
