AB&C Compliance Services
Anti-Bribery and Corruption Compliance Services for an effective programme to address recent global trends.
A new amendment under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act was introduced in 2018, which establishes the principle of Corporate Liability for corrupt practices of its employees and/or person(s) associated with the commercial organisation. This new provision will come into effect on 1st June 2020.
In this regard, companies in Malaysia are compelled to step up their efforts in combating bribery and corruption within their organisation. This includes implementing various anti-bribery and corruption (AB&C) controls, as well as performing bribery and corruption risk assessments on a regular basis and creating awareness on the new MACC Act requirements, via trainings and communication channels.
Efforts do not stop after implementation. Companies are required to perform periodic reviews on the existing policies and controls in place, as part of the continuous evaluation and improvement of the AB&C framework.
“Am I implementing my AB&C framework the right way?” and “Am I doing enough to prevent bribery and corruption in my organisation?”. There is so much uncertainty surrounding the implementation of the AB&C framework. With extensive experience and deep understanding of the issues related to implementing AB&C frameworks, Deloitte is able to support you in this new and unchartered area.
