Sharon Kok

Sharon is a partner in the Southeast Asia Insurance Practice based in Deloitte Malaysia.

She is the lead insurance partner for Deloitte Malaysia to serve the insurance clients in Malaysia. She has more than 14 years audit experience in serving several inbound and outbound multinational engagements and public interest entities in several key economic sectors, including the audit for both life and non-life insurance companies gained from her roles in Malaysia, London and Singapore. She has relevant MFRS/IFRS/USGAAP relevant experience and knowledge.

Sharon is a certified Deloitte IFRS insurance specialist. She also represents Deloitte Malaysia as a member of MASB MFRS 17 Implementation Task Force in Malaysia to support implementation of the new Standard. She has experience involved in multiple IFRS 17 projects, which include training, gap analysis and implementation.

Sharon is also a regular speaker for MFRS/IFRS insurance training to various insurance associations, including Malaysian Insurance Institute, Labuan International Insurance Association, Malaysia Takaful Association, Insurance Association of Cambodia.

Apart from her experience in insurance related audit and advisory engagements, Sharon also has extensive audit experiences in serving both local and multinational corporations as well as public and private companies operating in various industries, including real estate, fund management, shared service centre, etc.

She has also provided other accounting advisory and assurance services, including agreed upon procedures (including communication with local regulatory bodies), reporting accountant engagements, review and evaluation of internal control systems and accounting procedures of companies, etc.
