Our firm provides a range of accounting, auditing, taxation and consultancy services. We have been present in Namibia since 1959, serving a wide variety of clients throughout Namibia. The local firm has seven partners and two directors
Erwin Tjipuka, Partner
Erwin initially joined the firm as a trainee in the Windhoek office on 1 December 1997 and rose through the ranks to be a senior manager in the audit division at the time of him leaving the firm on 11 March 2005.
Erwin left the firm to join the FNB group as Group Finance Manager on 11 March 2005 and was later promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer on 1 March 2008, a position he held until his return to Deloitte.
Erwin is a CA and the holder of B.Com degree from UNAM, Post-graduate diploma in Accountancy from UCT, and MBA from Maastricht School of Business.
Erwin is the managing partner at Deloitte Namibia, and also heads the Business Processes-as-a-Service division and will help our firm in our focus on growing the firm’s eminence and winning business in Namibia. Upon taking up the mantle of managing partner in 2013, Erwin had this to say:

Abel Akayombokwa, Audit Partner
Abel is an audit partner in the Windhoek Office serving clients in various industries including Mining, Construction, Properties as well as SOE sector clients. He also has vast experience in the mining, telecommunication and fishing industries.
When he completed his articles, he was seconded to the Los Angeles office (USA) where he supervised audits of multi-national corporations including some listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Abel obtained his B.Com degree at University of Namibia and B.Com Hons Accounting at the University of Natal Durban. Abel is a Namibian citizen and is a member of ICAN and PAAB in Namibia. Abel is the Deloitte Namibia training officer.
Gerda Brand, Tax Director
Gerda is a Tax Director in the Windhoek office and she specialises in all forms of taxation and consults to a portfolio of corporate, listed and medium sized clients including mining, financial services, retail and manufacturing. Gerda has over 15 years Namibian tax experience of which 9 years were spent at Deloitte.
Gerda is a Namibian citizen and is a member of the Law Society of Namibia, the Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the VAT Committee of the Banker’s Association of Namibia. She is also the editor of Deloitte’s Tax Newsletters and the Deloitte Quick Tax Guide. Gerda is in charge of our learning team, which ensures ongoing staff development regardless of career path.
Helen de Bruin, Audit Partner
Helen de Bruin is an audit partner in the Windhoek office, specialising particularly in the pension fund, service and retail industries. Helen joined Deloitte as a bursary student in 1992 and served her training period in the Windhoek office. She became a partner with Deloitte in January 2009.
Helen obtained a B Com and B Com Hons Accounting degree at Rand Afrikaans University, South Africa and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Helen is a member of ICAN and PAAB in Namibia and SAICA in South Africa. She is also responsible for the risk and quality management process in the Windhoek office
Johann Cronjé, Audit Partner
Johann is an audit partner in the Windhoek office with significant experience in a wide range of industries, including mining, financial services, retail and manufacturing. Johann is a Namibian citizen and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia as well as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He completed his articles in Windhoek before an extended secondment to Deloitte London where, amongst others he was the lead on various multi-national companies. In addition to his external audit responsibilities Johann was also involved in various finance transformation projects, due diligence assignments and business proposals. Johann also handles our graduate recruitment.
Melanie Harrison, Risk Advisory Director
Melanie is a Director of Risk Advisory Namibia. Melanie has ten years professional experience with Deloitte in Namibia and the Namibian De Beers Group of Companies. She has acquired extensive experience in IT external and Internal audit, IT governance, risk management, corporate governance and information security. Melanie has a post graduate degree with honours in Information Systems and has also obtained the following certifications: CISA, CIA and CISM.
Arlington Matenda, Audit Partner
Arlington is in charge of the Walvis Bay office. He previously held the position of Associate Director at the Windhoek office.
He has twelve years professional experience with Deloitte and has extensive auditing and accounting experience.
Ramsay Mc Donald, Audit Partner
Ramsay Mc Donald is the assurance leader for the Windhoek office with specialist experience in the following sectors:

He became a partner in Deloitte in 1999 and has previously served in the Cape Town office prior to rejoining the Windhoek office in 2003. Ramsay is a member of ICAN and PAAB in Namibia and SAICA in South Africa. Ramsay served as a co-opted member on the ICAN council as chairman of the Training and Education portfolio, and also as a member of the PAAB education committee.
Julius Nghikevali, Audit Partner
Julius is a Partner in Audit in the Deloitte, Windhoek, office in Namibia. He has been with Deloitte for 10 years and has gained experience on a multitude of engagements in different industries. At the beginning of 2010, he was seconded to our Dubai office in the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East region.
His current largest audit engagements are Nedbank Namibia Limited (banking institution), Commercial Investment Corporation (consumer business and Imperial subsidiary), National Housing Enterprise (public entity) and Microsoft Namibia (technology/distributor).
