TaxLab 2021 - the green edition | Registration is closed
TaxLab’s theme for this year is focused on sustainability. The ESG (Environmental, Social and corporate Governance) criteria are becoming more and more of importance for companies to create business value, accompanied with new challenges from a tax & legal perspective. In addition, companies are faced with an increase in reporting obligations, for example, the recently published Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (“CSRD”). Following the CSRD, companies will have a reporting obligation with respect to sustainability as per 2023.
Why put sustainability in a tax and legal perspective?
Sustainability continues to gain momentum and is no longer just about the environment or the climate. The environmental, social and governance factors (ESG) are increasingly important for companies to consider, also from a tax and legal perspective.
In practice, the knowledge on what is related to sustainability and tax is lacking. Typically, the Governance part (the G in ESG) is often well-known to companies, because it fits in with the more well-known themes such as responsible tax or corporate tax. But hardly anyone knows what benefits can be gained in terms of environment and social sustainability. Whilst the bigger picture often results in more business value.
Therefore at TaxLab 2021, Deloitte will present what is needed in the coming years from a tax and legal perspective and what can already be put into practice. Together with interesting guest speakers and clients we adress the subject, share real life stories and update you on the latest developments in the field of sustainability inspiring you to make a contribution that lasts.
