Predict Cure Heal

Life-saving algorithm predicts Covid complications.

In an ever more complex world, multi-disciplinary collaboration is key to delivering viable healthcare and building trust. At Deloitte, it’s a rule we live by. Connect for Impact, as we say. That's why we work together with a team of specialists from Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam.

Time and life saving algorithm

Together with doctors and other medical experts, our consultants, data scientists and software developers have forged an algorithm that predicts whether a Covid-19 patient on intensive care will develop complications related to pulmonary embolism. The breakthrough is in the algorithm’s predictive power: two days in advance and with 87% accuracy. Saving doctors and nurses precious time and, ultimately, patients’ lives.

The future of health

Use of the algorithm at Erasmus MC, has decreased stress on the intensive care units and siginificantly improved the life-expectancy of a specific group of Covid-patients. It’s in this fruitful multi-disciplinary collaboration that we see a clear pointer to the future of healthcare. Where early diagnostics can help us prevent certain illnesses or complications before they arise, making public healthcare more effective and sustainable. Intensive, curative healthcare will always be needed, but there is a world of wellbeing to be gained through prevention.

It’s the impact we make on the future of health. Together with Erasmus MC. And together with you.

Connect for Impact.
