Esther Schagen-van Luit is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Deloitte Netherlands. In her role Esther is ultimately responsible for continuously improving and setting a high bar for Deloitte's information security in the Netherlands and thus fulfilling the top priority to continuously secure customer data. She also represents the Dutch information security interests at various international levels within Deloitte worldwide.
Esther started her career at Deloitte six years ago and until 1 February 2021 she was Specialist Master in Security Architecture within the Deloitte Cyber Strategy Team, where she provided services to clients in the areas of security architecture, risk assessments, governance and security talent. In addition to her role as CISO, Esther is keynote speaker in the field of information security, diversity and talent development in the industry.
She is a Director at the SABSA Institute's Board of Trustees, the institute that manages a well-known framework for Security Architecture, and is a role model dedicated to enthusing more girls and women for a career in the security industry. She is also active within Deloitte in the field of Diversity & Inclusion and sustainability – she is a Deloitte ambassador for One Young World and represents her generation in the Deloitte Societal Impact Council, a senior leadership forum within Deloitte Global that focuses on how Deloitte makes social impact and conducts responsible business.
