Niels van den Berg

Niels van den Berg is a Specialist Lead at Deloitte Consulting and has worked since 2017 in the Artificial Intelligence and Data offering (AI&D) in the Netherlands.

Niels is specialized in MLOps. This is a framework that applies the DevOps principles from software development to machine learning and data engineering. MLOps helps to bring machine learning applications to a production environment, where they really add value. Parts of MLOps are Infrastructure as Code, (model) version control, CI/CD pipelines, data validation, and monitoring.

In his role, he leads teams from a technology perspective, and he is a senior developer. He designs and develops machine learning platforms on AWS.

He is more than interested in innovative projects in the AI field. As an example, he worked on AI4Animals, an innovative camera surveillance system to better monitor how animals are handled in slaughterhouses. The platform uses object detection algorithms and edge computing systems.
