About Us
Working together to help our communities
Deloitte New Zealand people have a strong tradition of supporting the communities in which we live and work.
Since 2012 our Corporate Responsibility Council has accepted 29 deserving community involvement fund applications. Over the years we have had some amazing applications - from fundraising matching for a group of Deloitte Oxfam Trail walkers and a set of bike riders for New Zealand Breast Cancer, to improving the lives of people recovering from serious injuries and illnesses through Canterbury's Burwood Academy of Independent Learning (BAIL), and providing grants to the Science Library initiative which gives teachers easy access to a library of science equipment, lesson plans and other aides.
It all demonstrates that we play to win by giving back to our communities - to organisations where our people are personally involved – typically outside their Deloitte work.
We asked the team at the Science Library how they used their grant:
“The funds were combined with other monies raised at a rotary event to undertake a refresh of the Science Library branding. As a start-up charity, finding funding for this essential work had proven difficult, as most donors will only support specific programmes and capital purchases and not core administrative or marketing programmes.”
We’re here to support and celebrate our people in their quest to make an impact that matters.
