Social impact. It means different things to different people. For Deloitte’s Social Impact Practice, we see it as a means to making sustained, positive change. We know that for many people, ourselves included, this is the reason we come to work every day.

What is the Social Impact Practice?

The practice team is a range of individuals from across the firm with a commitment to making a real difference, improving outcomes for some of New Zealand’s most vulnerable, and contributing to shaping the future of the social sector. We are privileged to be in this position, using our firm’s global strength and combined knowledge gained through both large scale and community projects.

Our vision

Our vision is to “co-create meaningful outcomes to deliver lasting social change.” This means we design with people and not just for them.

Our mahi

We are not defined by whom we work with, but rather the issues that we are working to address. We like to drive change at scale and do not shy away from the big challenges. This means we help organisations in the public, private, and social sectors to overcome some of the greatest societal challenges, and to shift from aspiration to impact.

What’s next?

Through our experience, we have learned quite a lot, from effective ways to co-design with a variety of demographics, through to strengthening and empowering communities. We think some of these things are worth sharing. We hope that by sharing our learnings we will spark conversations and action in others – so that’s what we are going to do.
