Anis Jabsheh

Anis was a partner for the Consulting practice in Jordan

Duration with Deloitte

I was with Deloitte for almost 18 years from 1980 until 1984 and from 1999 until 2013.

Position/Service Line

I joined as a Business Analyst and left the firm as a General Partner. During my career at Deloitte, I was working and managing all the consulting service lines in the regions I was responsible for. When the consulting practice introduced the service line concept few years back, I became part of the operations service line in addition to being a geography leader.

Office

I was based in Jordan and managed its consulting operations, in addition to Qatar and Palestinian territories and supported the execution of projects in other countries such as Saudi Arabia. During the last few years, and due to its high importance and demand on consulting, I was relocated and Qatar became my base.

What have you achieved since you left Deloitte?

Since I left Deloitte, I am working as an Adviser at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (Qatar World Cup 2022).

Are you still in contact with any of your previous colleagues at Deloitte?

Yes I am in contact.

What is your best memory of working at Deloitte? Please provide us with a brief description.

During my presence at Deloitte, there are many memories which are engraved forever. The best memory I would say was my major contribution in building the consulting practice in the Middle East from zero to where it is right now.

What do you miss most about Deloitte, if any?

I miss the regional exposure and client diversification and I miss coaching and mentoring the consultants who are striving to pursue the partnership road I have selected. I also miss my partners and most importantly the support staff (ICS) who are still working diligently to achieve the success of the consulting practice.

What one thing do you not miss about Deloitte?

Since I liked and enjoyed my job and profession, I really find it difficult to select what I do not miss. If I have to select something, I would say that I do not miss filling my time sheet.

What is the most important thing you learned from your work at Deloitte?

Managing clients and transferring knowledge and most importantly integrity and professionalism. Also, if you are a true professional consultant working towards achieving your goals and objectives, then the path to partnership becomes easier.

What advantage does your experience at Deloitte provide you compared to your colleagues/connections now?

The in-depth knowledge of the consulting analytical skills and managing many tasks at the same time. I would add the presentation skills and teamwork.

If you could give one piece of advice to current Deloitte employee, what would it be?

You need to like and adore your consulting job and understand the needs of clients in order to deliver the best quality. Also, request to be staffed on challenging jobs and complete your assigned tasks within the budgeted hours. Some consultants feel stressed out, but if they like their profession and are proud of it, work would become enjoyable.
