Deloitte predicts a solid Christmas for Australian retailers, and, based on our survey results, genuine optimism for a revitalised retail environment in 2015.
Based on a survey of senior executives of leading retailers operating in the Australian market, ‘Making sense of the silly season’ analyses retailers’ sentiment for the Christmas period, key trends and their expectations and priorities for 2015.
After a challenging six months, retailers’ confidence is high for the Christmas period ahead with survey respondents predicting a rise in sales from last year’s Christmas retail period.
Digital is top of mind for retailers this year with many survey respondents expecting their online sales to rise from last year.
Whilst the respondents feel that consumer confidence will stay same as last year, their predictions for 2015 are broadly positive with retailers’ focusing on organic growth moving forward.
