Our speakers covered the following issues:

CREATE MORE
The Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises to Maximize Opportunities for Reinvigorating the Economy (CREATE MORE) is one of the latest additions to the arsenal of laws aiming to further drive investment and economic recovery in the Philippines. In this seminar, we will cover the salient provisions of the law, the developments/ changes from the previously passed CREATE Act, and its impact on the incentives enjoyed by companies registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Board of Investments (BOI). We will also provide guidance and strategies to harness the value of the available incentives and the initial guidance based on the issued interim implementing rules and regulations (IRR).

VAT on Digital Services.
The recently passed RA 12023 which imposes VAT on digital services including online search engines, online marketplaces or e-marketplaces, cloud services, online media and advertising, online platforms and digital goods will also be discussed. RA 12023, its salient provisions and impact on businesses prove to be relevant given the important role that interconnectivity and digitalization assume in the delivery of products and services by companies.

Pillar Two and its impact on incentives and compliance obligations.
Wrapping up the discussion, Deloitte's Southeast Asia TP Leader will provide an overview of the Global Anti-Base Erosion Model Rules or Pillar Two which effectively imposes a global minimum tax rate of 15% on profits in all countries. In this seminar, we will cover the impact on incentives and compliance obligations of companies registered with PEZA and BOI and will provide guidance and strategies to mitigate the potential impact. Now that the Philippines has joined the Organisation for Economic and Development (OECD)/G20 Inclusive Framework (IF) on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), Philippine taxpayers should initiate impact assessments and ensure their data readiness on Pillar Two Rules. Our speaker will give a brief overview of Pillar Two, its impact, and next action steps.
