Making a difference, reaching out… As one

Deloitte Philippines Outreach, Inc. (DPOI) is the official Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Navarro Amper & Co. As an employee-driven organization, staff and partners work together to promote education for underserved young people, support climate change and other environment protection initiatives, and undertake other strategic CSR programs through community involvement.

Over the years, DPOI has been actively partnering with various organizations such as He Cares Foundation, the Philippine Business for Social Progress, the Philippine National Red Cross, and World Vision. Through these partnerships, DPOI has been able to extend help to various communities, and support disaster and emergency response efforts in the wake of devastating calamities.

Strength through unity

Employees and partners of Navarro Amper & Co. remain steadfast in their commitment to education, environment protection and volunteerism through DPOI, Navarro Amper & Co.’s official CSR arm. In the past year alone, DPOI has carried out numerous activities, from conducting public seminars for accounting teachers from different universities and colleges in NCR; arranging a special learning trip to the Mind Museum for 30 disadvantaged students from the World Vision child sponsorship program and He Cares Foundation; visiting the elderly at Hospicio de San Jose in Manila and Gasa sa Gugma, in Cebu; cleaning classrooms and covering books of students from Ususan Elementary School in partnership with PBSP as part of Brigada Eskwela; to its involvement in the Deloitte-FINEX Outstanding Finance Educator awards.

DPOI continues to extend help in the Visayas in the wake of Typhoon Yolanda. Through its CSR partners, the Philippine National Red Cross and PBSP, DPOI was able to support disaster and emergency response efforts, and build temporary shelter and facilitate clearing operations in the provinces of Leyte, Samar and Capiz. It has also extended aid in Aklan and supported Project Balik-Dagat by providing funds to fabricate 25 small fishing boats for the immediate use of fisher-folks for their subsistence fishing.

DPOI has also adopted Patao, a small town in Bantayan Island, Cebu. It distributed school supplies to the students of San Jose Elementary School and teachers of Patao National High School. It also joined PBSP’s Platforms for Collective Engagements in rebuilding classrooms for San Jose Elementary School. It committed to build 9 out of the 25 classrooms at an estimated total project cost of P8 million. DPOI has also committed to sponsor the costs of repairing the roof of selected classrooms and the school stage of Patao National High School.

Professionals on the dot: Book drive project

Recipients of the book drive include Asian Development Foundation College, Eastern Visayas State University, Saint Paul School of Business and Law, and Saint Peter’s College of Ormoc.
