On May 24, 2011, in Lisbon`s Culturgest building, the fourteenth meeting of the Shared Services Club (Clube de Serviços Partilhados) took place. The event was marked by the spirit of sharing and high participation of club members, with a record turnout of around 410 people. Among those present were representatives from the CGD / Sogrupo, the host of the event, ANA Autosueco, Banif, BCP, Brisa, Cimpor, CP, CTT, EDP, ESViagens, FCP, Media Capital, Mota Engil, PT, Refer, REN, TAP, Teixeira Duarte, Sonae group, TAP and ZON, among many others, totaling more than 60 companies.

Under the theme cross-corporate, strategic functions, and with CGD / Sogrupo as host, the event sought to demonstrate how to make areas of business more efficient within the new economic environment.

The opening ceremony was performed by a Deloitte partner, Horace Negrao. To celebrate 10 years in the Shared Services Club, representatives from the founders took the stage: Agricultural Credit, Gestível, RAR, Sonae Indústria and Siemens all received a commemorative milestone award.

Eiras Miguel Antunes, a partner at Deloitte, introduced this year's theme and invited the new members of the club to give a brief presentation. Representatives from the ANA, Mars, Opway, Rioforte, Sonae Capital, Unitel and Catholic University shared with what their expectations were for the club and what they hoped to give and take back from this experience.

CGD / Sogrupo shared their story and experience with all participants in a presentation made by the administrator, José Araújo Silva. The morning session ended with a presentation from Markus Seeger, a partner at Deloitte Germany, on Shared Services in the Financial Sector.

At 11:30am participants divided into 9 breakout sessions where they attended the presentation of 26 case studies and shared challenges and best practices from their shared services centers. The forum ended with presentations with the main findings from each of the breakout sessions held by representatives from the participating companies. An CGD exclusive piece was also drawn by the audience.

At the end of the day, Miguel Antunes Eiras summarized the conference with one sentence that several participants had said to him: "Even if only one opportunity is implemented in my shared service center, it was worth coming here." The event ended with a champagne toast to 10 years of the Club.
