Deloitte to assist Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works in business digitalization

Moscow, 6 June 2019. At the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Deloitte CIS and PAO Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) signed a partnership agreement to develop a digitalization strategy. Deloitte CIS was engaged by MMK as a partner in developing its digitalization strategy. Deloitte and MMK will bring their global experience and expertise in innovation to the full metal production cycle to improve business efficiency.

MMK decided to update its digital portfolio as part of its 2025 Development Strategy. Deloitte will prepare a medium-term road map for the company’s digitalization to achieve this. This will include the implementation of extremely efficient projects to help MMK accomplish its strategic goals more quickly.

Preliminary research by Deloitte experts found that the use of cutting-edge technologies holds significant potential for MMK. This is because the company has a vast digital history and production data is updated in real-time.

“Years of work implementing information systems to manage technologies, quality control and product traceability have formed an excellent basis for business digitalization,” said Alexander Oleynik, Director, Strategy & Operations, Deloitte Consulting. “Deloitte, in turn, will bring cross-industry knowledge and experience in innovation that will help MMK make use its digital potential more effectively and develop plans for its further development.”

“MMK and Deloitte have created a long-lasting partnership,” said Andrey Eremin, Director for Economics, MMK. “Deoitte has repeatedly demonstrated its exceptional capabilities in a broad range of spheres that are strategically important for Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. I hope that our cooperation in digital transformation will just as successful and deliver mutual benefits.”
